Music is my Life, music is my Jam, music is my Vibe.
I’ve always had a passion for music, especially songwriting which evolved from my poetry. I started professionally writing lyrics 9 years ago, and they resound in my head daily. Putting melodies to those words started as a challenge, until a conversation I had at the Spot Studios- with music producers Glenn Sawyer and Rich Veltrop- where I found my vision. I was introduced to recording artist Mawule, who is the voice behind my debut single, “What Love Doesn’t Look Like.”
I’ve had the pleasure of working with other producers as well:
I created my first instrumental, “Elation,” with Music Composer & Producer Jarrod Headly. Jarrod has composed and engineered for television, on networks such as, ESPN, CBS, CBS sports, FOX, History Channel, and Discovery channel. He’s also worked on the TV programs ESPN Monday Night Football, NCAA, and MTV’s Catfish.
I was also given the opportunity to collaborate with New York music producer Anthony Mirabella on my songs “Gravity,” “Ghosting,” and “Toxic,” with more songs on the way. Anthony’s scope of accomplishments ranges from work in film and television, as well as being a part of ONEDUO- the electronic music group setting their own mark on the industry. His producer and writer credits can be found on movies including, “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” & “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” and even with sports entertainment venues such as WWE.
Growing up in Queens, New York, Jason Cornet’s drive for music was fueled at an early age and never slowed. His skill set features instruments like piano and bass guitar, as well as technical aspects like sound engineering. Taking on writing and producing full time in 2019, he is better known by his recording name, “Tenroc.” Apart from working with me on multiple demos, Tenroc has collaborated with The Jonas Brothers (“The Album”) & NBA Young Boy (“My Window” feat. Lil Wayne [Certified Gold]). He has also been nominated for two Grammys.
In 2024, I completed The Faith Project, my exploration into Afro-Gospel, with Nigerian producer Egar Boi. Egar Boi’s production career has witnessed an insurmountable amount of growth over a short span and he is someone to follow closely. His work speaks for itself. Egar Boi asserts that his skills of singing and songwriting help the way he builds songs step by step in production. Just like most producers groomed in Nigeria, Egar Boi creates the Afrobeats sound but is not restricted by it. Currently, he is working with me on my Exposed Ep.
At 63, I have no intentions of slowing down anytime soon. My first EP, “Exposed,” will be released February of 2025. More than anything, I want my career to be an inspiration that you’re never too old to follow your dreams. Age is just a number.
